The Chef

Thomas Rode Andersen is only the third head chef at Kong Hans Kælder since the restaurant opened in 1976. He has worked at top restaurants in Denmark (Falsled Kro at Fyn, Fakkelgaarden in Kollund), in Germany (Chez Paul in Flensborg) and Austria (Lebzelter Obauer in Salzburg).

He recently took part in writing the book "3 Stjerner" (Three Stars) about all the restaurants awarded 3 stars in the Michelin guide in Europe and he has also written his own cookbook "En Kogebog".

He is dedicated to the business and is also a member of the Danish Bocuse D'Or Academy.

The Sommelier

Thilde Jo Maarbjerg became an educated waiter from Kong Hans Kælder i 2005. In 2006 she passed the test for becoming a member of the Danish Sommelier Association where she is now a member of the board (since 2010). In 2006 she also finished the norwegian sommelier education as best student in class. In 2009 she graduated the Wine & Spirit Education Trust programme Level 4 "Diploma" with Merit. Besides working at Kong Hans managing the wine cellar and the restaurant she teaches at the danish sommelier education "Vinakademiet".
